2010 Here I come....

Been a while since I have put anything up...... Well, here goes one month till d-day A.K.A. "Sagebrush Safari." The excitement is in the air and interval time is once again wielding it's ugly head. Good bye beer!

One thing I have realized since my last post: I am a mountain bike racer, not a mountain bike rider.

See you on the road! (Unless, there is a race of course.)

Colin's first "Hole Shot!"

I have strange feeling it might not be the last. Of course, with his gravitation towards motors it might not be self powered however, let the world know that there is a very large/determined boy on his way to cause some serious trouble if you have to be in the way with racing in his blood. (Kinda a cute little feller as well if my opinion counts for anything...)

Fontana/ Southridge Final

Luck favors the mind that is prepared, Louis Pasteur. (Now if I could only get my legs to catch up......)

Hulda Crooks Short Course Thursdays.......

Best place to be on a Thursday afternoon? My vote is Hulda Crooks park in Loma Linda. Unsanctioned MTB fun just like the old days. Thirty minutes of leg searing fun and three extra laps just for good measure, how could you go wrong? They even give prizes for the most retarded! I got something in a bottle that resembled liquid speed, a gift certificate, and some gel things if that helps you fathom how retarded I actually am. Here's the address: 11800 Mountain View, Loma Linda, CA, time is: six o' clock sharp!

Thanks for the ride! (And the photo Joy)

Bonelli National #1 (Hell on Earth, well it felt like it anyways.)

Can you find the biggest creep in the image above? (Pic stolen from the US Cup website.) Very painful it was! Probably the most agonizing two hours that I can remember being in since breaking my leg. (And that only hurt hours later.) Well, one in the bag and many lessons learned. I am now ready for more! Why? I can't explain it and if I could most wouldn't understand anyway...... See you in Fontana! (etc., etc., etc.......)

Out with the Old, In with the New (Southridge #3)

This is what you call gearing up for getting down:
Well I finally broke down and started the season. (I guess it's still the pre-season officially.) It felt good to get out the cobwebs and get the train a rolling. Of course, the outcome was not quite what one would hope as I almost destroyed my bike and DNF'ed a mile from the finish in third place w/ second place in sight. (I sent a derailleur into the spokes and put a enormous gouge in a carbon frame.) Funny thing is that my mechanic genius Feller John over at the PedalSmith warned me the day before that the derailleur hanger was finished and should be replaced.

Did I listen?

Colin's season started off pretty rough as well: (Face first in a mud puddle the size of a Volkswagon.)

Me and "The Boy," will spend the next two weeks regrouping and see you on the start line.....

My favorite quote/statement(s) of the weekend: Courtney (My lovely Wife) stated: "Did you know that you have a whole in the ass of your shorts?" at the beginning of the race followed by "You looked like you were homeless." as I limped back to the van after the race.

A moment of clarity......

Creeping around on the internet I ran across something that made me actually think? Mmmmmm? Thanks Matt. Where in the hell is that wagon anyway? I am jumping on! I could try to explain the misery I experienced last Saturday however, only a few would understand. Ouch!
